More about the Tree

Uses and Benefits:

One of the earliest ripening apples (late July), prized for its refreshing, mildly tart flavor. Best eaten fresh or cooked into light sauces, as it softens quickly. Historically grown for its reliability in cooler climates. The wood is dense and can be used for tool handles.

Fun facts:

One of the earliest UK apples, ready by late July - sometimes called the "holiday apple".

Its soft flesh makes it terrible for storage but perfect for quick sauces.

A Victorian-era variety almost lost to history until rediscovered in Suffolk.
